Batman Versus Superman Dawn Of Justice In 3D continued the strong resurgence of recent 3D titles in the marketplace generating approximately 40% of its domestic opening weekend gross on 3D equipped screens.
Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.
RealD 3D accounted for an estimated $47 million of the weekend's total $170.1 million domestic box office.
Internationally, approximately 59% of the film's $254 million came from the 3D format led by China (98%), Germany (88%), Brazil (81%), Russia (55%), and France (51%).
Beginning with Batman V. Superman through Kubo in August, there will be more than 20 3D enhanced motion pictures to choose from, compared to 10 films released during a comparable period last year. In calendar year 2016, 35 releases will be presented in 3D compared to 27 domestic releases in 2015.
Upcoming this year, there is growing excitement for 3D motion pictures as diverse as Jungle Book, Ghostbusters, Captain America: Civil War, Independence Day: Resurgence, Alice Through The Looking Glass, and more.
