Johnny Depp honored at the UGG and Santa Barbara International Film Festival 05.Feb.2016

Johnny Depp was presented with Maltin Modern Masters Award celebrating Lifelong Achievements in Film.  Depp was honored for his commitment to many diverse roles including Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Chocolat, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Black Mass, just to name a few.

The award is the highest honor given during the 11 day festival, which is running February 3rd through February 13th at the historic Arlington theatre in the heart of Santa Barbara.  During the second evening of the 31st annual Santa Barbara Film Festival, UGG® (a division of Deckers Brands, NYSE: DECK), had the privilege of presenting Johnny Depp with the prestigious award.

UGG® is proud to present what was previously known as the Modern Master Award. Established in 1995, it is the highest accolade presented by SBIFF. Created to honor an individual who has enriched our culture through accomplishments in the motion picture industry, it was re-named the Maltin Modern Master Award in 2015 in honor of long-time SBIFF moderator and renowned film critic Leonard Maltin. Past recipients include Michael Keaton, Bruce Dern, Ben Affleck, Christopher Plummer, Christopher Nolan, James Cameron, Clint Eastwood, Cate Blanchett, Will Smith, George Clooney and Peter Jackson.

"It is a pleasure to once again join our friends at the SBIFF, in our hometown of Santa Barbara, to honor one of the most accomplished film professionals of our time," says Nicks Ericsson, UGG® Director of Marketing for the women's division. "Mr. Depp's ability to inspire us all through his work is what makes him the perfect recipient for this year's top honor."
