Forget All The Others. I Want To See A Melrose Place Remake! 28.Oct.2008

Forget 90210. It could never hold a candle to Melrose. Amanda Woodward was Heather Locklear at her very best. There was the licentious Michael. There was some seriously hot guys and drop dead gorgeous girls like Rob Estes and Josie Bissett. It was deliciously dishy and gloriously tongue-in-cheek. TV has not been the same since.

Just when you thought we would perish under the weight of all the half-assed remakes out there comes word today from the CW that they are "exploring developing" a revised version of Melrose Place. Hallelujah! Finally, someone is listening.

Melrose was more than just a prime-time soap. It was one of the first TV shows to promote gay characters honestly and openly in a relationship. It explored other previously taboo topics like family and domestic violence. And just before it took itself too seriously crazy Kimberly would blow up the apartment complex or develop amnesia or some other crazy shit. It was one of my favorite shows, and I was far from alone. A remake of Melrose would do more for the CW than a whole gaggle of Gossip Girls.
