Will Smith and his co-starI love dogs but I would have to say one of my least favorite kind of dogs is The German Shepherd. It might be party because my grandparents have one that slobbers all over me and knocks glasses over with its tail. I just never thought they were that cute. I would say they would be the last dog I would pick out to own (this week a Pocket Puggle is my favorite breed. Yes they actually do exist!) That was my opinion before I saw the movie I am Legend. I don't want to go into too much detail but the film is basically about a cure for Cancer that goes horribly wrong and wipes out everyone on the planet except for Will Smith and his dog Samantha. The shocking shots of an empty, weed and wild animal ridden New York City are amazing but the relationship between Smith and the dog (his only companion) is extremely compelling. The dog is his best friend and his child and the only thing he has in this lonely world. The dog was an accomplished actor and made me change my entire negative opinion toward German Shepherds. I doubt the movie would have been quite as compelling with a Pocket Puggle.
