Kiefer Sutherland Now Less Likely To Be Cornholed, Gets To Serve His Time With Nicer Criminals

Not a booking photoNot a booking photoBlair Berk scores again. Kiefer Sutherland is being allowed to serve his 48-day sentence for DUI at Glendale City Jail instead of playing hide-the-soap at the Twin Towers, where he would have had to be kept in solitary for his own safety.

Kiefer had originally intended to start serving his sentence on his birthday, December 21, while 24 was on hiatus, but because of the WGA strike he had nothing else to do with his time, and turned himself in. Unlike Berk's other drunkard client, Lindsay Lohan, Kiefer will in fact be counting out his sentence in days instead of minutes, and is expected to work in the kitchen and laundry.

While awaiting his sentencing Kiefer chose not to eschew the hard-drinking lifestyle that got him into this predicament, his only change being the smartest one - he hired a driver. Hopefully this is a lesson that will stay learned for the ruggedly handsome actor. Even an adorable drunk can be a menace behind the wheel.
