All joking aside, I have loved Victoria Beckham ever since I first witnessed this brilliant exchange in the critically acclaimed Spice World (1997):
Posh: It's always the same. I never know what to wear.
Sporty: It must be so hard for you, Victoria. I mean, having to decide whether to wear the little Gucci dress, the little Gucci dress, or... the little Gucci dress!
Posh: Exactly.
Baby: I know, why don't you wear the little Gucci dress?
Posh: Good idea. Thanks, Em.
Even as a 12-year-old who didn't know other fashion outside of my basic "cK: Calvin Klein" t-shirt, I could relate and soon knew Victoria was onto something. She wasn't called "Posh" for nothing. Even when her wardrobe consisted mostly of little Gucci dresses, she struck me as some sort of misunderstood but kind hearted creature. Dare I admit that I would later catch myself pondering the similarities between Lady V and beloved alien-turned-friend then turned-Drew-Barrymore-into-a-star, ET?
ELLE has captured Victoria in her true essence at this photo shoot at the Eiffel Tower. Her style is too advanced for mere mortals, for we are only sorry earth things. Sexy's already back. Now it's time for something outer-worldy, wait for it...ALIEN CHIC.
