Isiah's nemesisMrs. Browne Sanders hardly seems like the shrinking violet type. As a matter of fact, she looks like she could wrestle Isiah (and probably any member of the team) to a draw, three times out of five. Nonetheless, it appears she knows how to work the legal system much better than he does.
Anucha Browne Sanders was the plaintiff in a sexual harassment suit against Thomas, Madison Square Garden, its parent company, Cablevision, and MSG's Chairman James Dolan. She claimed that she was subject to name-calling and unwanted advances that made her workplace a hostile one. She testified that when she complained to upper management, they fired her. Unfortunately for the defendants, the jury believed her and handed her a hefty judgment.
Defense attorneys of course say they're going to appeal the verdict, and Isiah Thomas is just stunned, unable to comprehend the fact that he has been judged a sexual predator in a civil proceeding. Imagine the lively conversation at his dinner table tonight. For what it's worth, I do find something about Browne Sanders a bit troubling. She's got that same homicidal gleam in her eye that Tina Knowles (Beyonce's mom) and Tameka Foster (Mrs. Usher) have. Isiah should just be happy he still has his beanbag.
