ReaperReaper, a new show on the CW, can definitely be labeled as original. It centers on slacker Sam, played by the adorable Harrison, who learns upon his 21st birthday that his parents sold his soul to the devil and he now has to track down escaped souls from Hell and return them from once they came. Sounds pretty crazy but hey I thought Lost sounded crazy and that show is a television gem. It is actually pretty funny and has a sortuv Buffy vibe. It is actually very Bufffy with the humor mixed in with the demon killing. Bret Harrison (Grounded for Life, some other cancelled shows) is adorable as a college drop-out (he dropped out because it made him sleepy) who becomes an indentured servant to Ray Wise's devil, who is quite funny and way less scary than Al Pacino in The Devil's Advocate. Jack Black look-alike Tyler Labine plays his best buddy and is ridiculously stupid but very funny. And then of course the girl of Sam's dreams is played by the very toothy Missy Peregym who was in that movie about gymnasts (Stick It) and a couple of Heroes episodes. Anyway, I recommend the show because it is pretty good and there is not much else on on a Tuesday night.
