Kanye West is having a hissy fit (again) because out of five VMA nominations, he got absolutely no moon men. Zip. Zero. Zilch. And he's angry, saying that no one will give the Black man a chance.
Kanye WestLook around you, Kanye. You were surrounded that night by winners of that and other awards that have eluded you. The difference between them and you? It's certainly not talent - no one's taking away the fact that you've made at least one monster hit. It's your pissy attitude that people can't stand.
Kanye West is like the spoiled kid in the neighborhood the other kids only tolerate because he has the coolest toys. Kanye's toy is his relatively newfound fame, and everybody wants to ride his gravy train. It's really easy to be popular with a group of people that just want to ride your coattails - or your bar tab, as the case may be.
But Kanye has alienated and offended much of the recording industry hierarchy, and they are the ones who decide who gets what award. As hip as these folks can be, nobody likes a squeaky wheel, especially one that throws the race card out there when he runs out of legitimate excuses.
Kanye, learn to be nice and stop complaining so much when things don't go your way. You'd be amazed what kind of doors it can open. Follow in the footsteps of those who came before you. Pay your dues, show some respect ... in other words, act your age.
