Foxy Brown Sentenced to One Year For Probation Violations, Will Probably Give Birth Behind Bars.

I said I was sorryI said I was sorryFoxy Brown appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court today, after stewing in lock-up for a month, to answer charges of repeatedly violating her probation. Apparently the former Inga Marchand didn't think they'd lock her up, even though she kept hitting people, leaving the state without permission and getting arrested. She has been arrested three times and has violated her probation at least four times, and must now pay the piper.

Judge Melissa Jackson refused to be swayed by Foxy's pleas for leniency or her claims that her month-long incarceration has "humbled me in a way I never imagined." I'm sure she put on a great performance, but Judge Jackson wasn't fooled. Perhaps it was the fact that Foxy's lawyers came into court today begging to be released from her case. She refused that request as well. Saying that it was "too little, too late", Jackson told the rapper, "My dear, you stand in this position because of your own doing," and handed down the sentence. She also scheduled another hearing to determine sentencing for additional violations that could also net Foxy a year in jail. So much for celebrity justice - I think that only works if you're white, blond and famous with the mainstream. Interestingly enough, Foxy claimed to be pregnant when she was first locked up. Was this a play for leniency a la Nicole Richie? One would almost hope so, rather than see her give birth behind bars.
