Gossip Girl castAlloy Entertainment's book series, Gossip Girl, was a little below my age group but apparently it was a phenomenom (an alternative to Harry Potter for some) and is now going to be a dramatic series starting this fall on the CW network. Blake Lively (the pretty blond from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) is the most famous name to the show but The O.C. also starred a bunch of nobodys. It is basically about the rich, beautiful teenagers on the Upper East Side and their near mid-life crisis parents. So basically take The O.C. but add a lot of tweed, old money and the Ivy League and you will get Gossip Girl it sounds like. The show is about 16-year-olds but from the commercial in which Lively is shown having some passionate sex they act like 26-year-olds which is probably relatively true of rich New York teens. I actually was walking through Central Park a few days ago and stumbled on to the set. I was surprised and pleased to see they were actually filming in New York because you know the show is about New York unlike let's say Felicity where you would see a palm tree if you looked hard enough.

And if you don't want to watch a show about teenagers you can watch the new series Dirty, Sexy, Money which will be debuting on ABC this fall and is about a rich UES family and stars Samaire Armstrong (of the O.C. She wore the crazy outfits because she was "off-beat"), Donald Sutherland and Peter Krause.
