Michael Bay and his beautiesDoesn't matter if you can't act it really just matters if you have a rockin' ass. Megan Fox, the female ingenue in Transformers (which was pretty awesome by the way) proved this. She is being hailed as the next Angelina Jolie — not because she is all about the United Nations but more because she has really big lips and tattoos. She is beautiful yes but an actress she ain't. I think I got more emotion from Optimus Prime (I am thinking of naming my first kid Optimus Prime. It just conveys power). You sortuv couldn't believe Shia Labeouf's character would fall for her (on the physical level yes) but not so much the intellectual level. Shia, of course, did manage to steal the movie from most of his hunky co-stars, most notably Tyrese, who you just prayed would stop talking most of the time. Josh Duhamel (I just love saying his last name) had a few good lines. Also the scene with Sam (Shia) and his parents played by Tony award winner Julie White and Kevin Dunn (one of those everything guys) was absolutely hilarious.
Michael Bay definitely has a thing for the blue eyes which do jump out on you on screen. The other young actress in the film, Aussie Rachael Taylor, wasn't much better except she had an Australian accent so she appeared to be more interesting. Megan Fox definitely had the whole Liv Tyler in Armageddon thing going on. In fact, there were at least five shots from Armageddon used in Transformers including the car in the sunset with the couple making out. You would think with his ginourmous budget Bay could have come up with something else but whatever. At least this was better than The Island.
