Claire and MamieApparently the film Evening, which comes out today, stars the greatest actresses of our time. Okay Meryl Streep and Glenn Close definitely but let's give Claire Danes a few more years to prove herself. She was in the Mod Squad after all. And let's not forget Mamie Gummer. I am pretty sure the fact that she has half of Meryl Streep's genes may have something to do with her getting the part of the younger version of Streep's character. That is true Hollywood nepotism at it's best. I am sure she is good and she has a tough road to follow as the daughter of Streep which is why I would have chosen a different career but with a name like Mamie Gummer what else can do you do but act? They are not the only mother/daughter act in the film - Natasha Richardson and Vanessa Redgrave also star (does anyone have the same name who is related?) So I guess Toni Colette and Claire must have felt left out since their moms weren't on set. They probably didn't feel as left out as Patrick Wilson and Hugh Dancy though (btw Danes and Dancy are a couple now so I guess Dancy had a good time doing the film. Wink wink.) I mean did they know when they signed up that only women would be seeing this film? I mean this is a CHICK FLICK with a capitol C. There is death, babies, a wedding, singing, dysfunctional relationships and period clothing. You will have to pay a man to see this with you.
