Jude and NorahIn the great tradition of Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson and Mandy Moore, Norah Jones will also be joining the ranks of singer/actors with her film debut in “My Blueberry Nights.” Hopefully Ms.Jones career will be more along the lines of Mandy Moore over Jessica. It looks like it definitely will because the film had it’s debut at Cannes of all places and co-stars Jude Law, Natalie Portman, Rachel Weisz and David Strathaim. That is not too bad for a first film. The film centers on a young woman’s cross-country (and of course self-discovering) trip where she meets a cast of eccentric characters who teach her life lessons. Heck, I like Norah Jones so much I wouldn’t even mind if they threw in one of her songs during a montage.
