Sometimes we jump to conclusions. We get all caught up in the whole breaking news thing, and sometimes a story is too juicy to pass up, especially when you've seen it in several different places.
Turns out Courtney Love had nothing to do with the Doc Martens ad showing Kurt Cobain as an angel wearing their boots. The ad caused an uproar, with Courtney receiving the brunt of criticism. The ad, however, was created by the company's ad agency, Saatchi & Saatchi of London, where permissions to use the image of deceased persons is not as stringently protected as they are in America.
Doc Martens has terminated Saatchi's engagement over the furor caused by the ads, which featured other dead rockers, none of which caused the uproar that Cobain's image did.
Courtney, we apologize for calling you a dirty pig slut. Stop with all the plastic surgery and finish that album already. We love you long time.
