Sailor lookThe nautical look is just getting a little ridiculous. Every store I was in today (and none of these were actually boat stores) had skirts, shorts and tops with anchors and stripes. I actually saw a pair of shorts that literally had real boat rope as a belt. Then I saw a real sailor jacket in J.Crew. Not like a cute jacket that looked sailorish but an actual sailor jacket.
Celebrities are of course embracing the look as well. I believe this is where this whole high-waisted jeans look is stemming from (if it makes Mischa Barton look fat then why would any person even attempt to wear it). I do like it better than the camouflage look but I still think we need to take it down a notch before someone walks the plank. Maybe it has to do with Pirates coming out.
