Was John Mayer filling in as stylist for Jessica Simpson at the NYC Costume Institute Gala the other night? If so, his choice of evening wear for this prestigious event says a lot more about his taste than hers.
The stars came out in their very finest for the event, and most actually looked stunning. Even the Olsen Twins cleaned up, trading their dumpster diving duds for long, flowing and plunging to the navel.
Jessica Simpson, on the other hand, poured her healthy curves into a hideous metallic sequined gown that only brought out the orange in her spray tan. And while she looks so much better as a brunette, it hasn't helped her IQ.
When she left her hotel for the event, she got into the wrong car. Events ground to a halt as she had to be located and patiently redirected to the proper limousine, where John Mayer waited, snickering and texting his friends. OK, maybe it really didn't happen exactly that way, but she did get into the wrong car.
