So it’s finally happening. The on again, off again, on again etc etc relationship between Tv doctors Luka and Abby will come to a close in the form of marriage. The episode slated to air Thursday May 3rd is being billed as “The event everyone had been waiting for” and “The happiest moment of their lives”. I think a certain little medical drama is getting a bit full of itself.
For countless seasons now Dr. Lockhart (Maura Tierney) and Dr. Kovac (Goran Visnjic) have been put through the love gauntlet. Now, apparently, to the joy of fans everywhere it is paying off. People still watch this show? I guess it’s a little presumptuous to assume that because I have moved on that everyone else has too. OK, so it is still a decent show, but is it really the event of the season? Or for that matter, the ER wedding to remember? Did everyone forget about a certain wedding between Dr.’s Greene and Corday? Oh, ER, you seem to be trapped inside your own self important bubble.
It might be too negative for me to outright hope this sparkling wedding episode will have a tragic ending (but if it does, someone shoot me an email). Im sure NBC’s ratings will be secured from all those lusty housewives perched in front of their televisions to see Visnjic in a tux. But for what it’s worth, I think Abby belonged with Carter anyway.
