Follow along here, so today...a washed-up son of a 'famous author' put out a "largely unfinished" book: "The Children of Hurin" -- 30 years after his daddies death...(just long enough for the dried bones to spin sideways over and over in its grave)....yea, um, ye wonder how they might say "sellout." back in ye olden days?
Billed as "the first new book -- (with chunks of already previously published materials thrown in for good measure) -- by the creator of "The Lord of the Rings."
The publishers spin, we hear, is that this is "an effort to bring to the public the vast body of work J.R.R. Tolkien had left unpublished, and largely unfinished, when he died in 1973."
With Luke warm reviews claiming "fans of the trilogy will find the cast small, the action thin, the satisfactions meager." -- We do wonder if maybe it had something to do with the fact(s) that
A. the author never intended this to be published....then or thirty years later.
B. the author never completed the book...so, hence it's not a complete story.
C. possibly, because parts of this unfinished book, were completed by his no-talent-son looking for a quick pay day.
D. how about...all the above.
Did you pick "D" all the above?...um, yeah...now class, get into groups of three and discuss this -- (and how to stop climate change) -- amongst yourselves during study hall.
