After a hiatus that for any other show would've caused me to completely lose interest, The Sopranos once again hit the airwaves. Last night's season premiere left me thinking about a few things: sopranos
BLOW JOBS: Early in the episode we see Carmella finish Tony off , shimmy up from under the covers and with a sly smile say, "Happy Birthday." Now for the average guy, any and all BJs received are a treat. Something they look forward to and are grateful for everytime they get one. My question is this: For a guy like Tony Soprano, who has an army of strippers, gumads and everyday hos lined up to give him a hummer, does the annual birthday BJ from his wife still mean something or is romance dead?
CLEANLINESS: Coming from a big Italian family with an Italian father named Tony, I'm fully armed with the knowledge that any Italian meal entails a dirty shirt. But seriously, does being a mob boss entitle a man to be a complete slob? Whether it's blood, sauce, or hoagie grease big T is consistently sporting stains on his wifebeater. Who knows, perhaps we're going to see mob/slob chic on the runways next season?
FU"GHETTO"BOUT IT: For me, the hottest moment of the show was when Tony returned from a night in the clink and AJs new Dominican girlfriend Blanca pipes up about how quickly he got out. Apparently, the venacular she used left everybody confused and AJ felt the need to translate "ghetto speak" to his mob boss father and family, saying, "What she means is..." I can't wait to see where they take this story line.
All in all, I was not disappointed and am really looking forward to the next 8 installments.
